Mirabella is proud to introduce a series on our blog called 'FAQ'. In this series, we will dive into some of the most frequently asked questions about Mirabella's makeup by makeup artists and beauty enthusiasts. Additionally, Team Mirabella will discuss in detail the answers to these questions that come up so often within our consumer base and the beauty industry.
Today, we are taking a closer look at the following question: "Is Mirabella a Non-Comedogenic Makeup Line?".
What Does Non-Comedogenic Mean?
Before we begin answering the core portion of this question, it's important to understand what exactly non-comedogenic refers to in reference to beauty products. Non-comedogenic is a term used to describe skincare and makeup products that are formulated in such a way that they are not likely to cause pore blockages and breakouts.
Is Mirabella Makeup Non-Comedogenic?
Mirabella has long embraced the motto of "True to You - No imitations," and just like our motto states, we work tirelessly to ONLY formulate makeup products with the cleanest ingredients and formulas that perform beautifully, while posing no particular harm to your skin. While this has always been the case within Mirabella's product line, we do not label our products as "non-comedogenic" for one fundamental reason - there is no governing body that regulates the use of that term, and thus there is no absolute way to certify a product as such.
In fact, much of what may make a product or ingredient clog pores is geniunely dependent on the individual user's skin. Most products that carry a non-comedogenic label mean that no particular ingredient in the formula is shown to clog pores, but this discounts any reaction of combined ingredients, interactions with skincare products used before application, and any existing skin conditions that may cause or exacerbate acne when combined with the cosmetic formula.
Here at Mirabella, we value honesty and work to always maintain full transparency with our valued consumers; therefore, while none the ingredients used in our makeup formulas are known to be a direct cause of breakouts and/or acne, we cannot offer, with 100% certainty, an acne-free guarantee after use of our cosmetics.
